Offering a cost effective solution that maximizes performance and flexibility and minimizes size and costs, APS proudly unveils the new SixPac™ Series of completely integrated inverter power stages for energy conversion, frequency conversion, motor drives and similiar applications, ensuring a reduction in time for product development.
"By fully integrating the most advanced IGBT technology with a thermal management system, DC link capacitors, laminated bus and industry proven IGBT Driver and control boards, the SixPac™ series of versatile power stages can be used as inverters, brake choppers, motor drives, power supplies, UPS, frequency converters and other power conversion applications." says James Murphy, General Manager of APS.
Reducing power losses by up to 30% and increasing output capacity by 20%, the SixPac™ not only has the industry's most advanced fault detection and protection circuitry, it is also field repairable and boasts a range of current ratings from 50 to over 2,500 Amperes.
Available in a wide variety of circuit configurations, the SixPac™ platform allows buyers to "buy exactly what they require with little or no need for compromise," says APS Engineering Manager Joseph Pignatelli. "We can deliver the SixPac™ with a fully operational control board for pulse width modulation (PWM) for a more complete solution to customer power requirements."
The SixPac™ series is available in 10 standard current levels, three voltage levels and four circuit configurations. There are more than 85 combinations of current and voltage levels not including options and accessories. The standard SixPac™ is equipped with IGBTs, heatsink, low inductance laminated bus, DC link capacitors, current sensors, gate drivers with dead time generator and a full complement of fault protection features to protect the IGBTs from overcurrent, short circuit, shoot-through, overvoltage, undervoltage lockout and diagnostic LEDs. Options include heat sink style, forced air cooling, liquid cooling, input converter, etc.
The SixPac™ is a cost effective option for users that require IGBT based power assemblies. They include manufacturers of Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switch Mode Power Supplies, Motor Drives, Power Quality Equipment, Fuel Cell Equipment, Distributed Power Generation, Energy Storage, Frequency Changers, Inverters, Power Factor Correction Equipment Electric Vehicles and many others.
