Applied Power Systems, Inc. (APS) announces the new AP-1491 IGBT Gate Drive Board for Three-Phase (AP-1491) and Full Bridge (AP-1491F) IGBT circuits.

The AP-1491 is a fully integrated IGBT driver board incorporating all of the isolated power supplies and protection features required for safe, reliable operation of IGBT power inverter stages. This driver board controls either six (AP-1491) or four (AP-1491F) switches (IGBTs) at currents in excess of 1400 Amps.

The AP-1491 provides an off the shelf solution for a safe, reliable, isolated interface between control logic and the IGBT power stage.

This unique IGBT gate driver board provides a more complete solution compared to competing drivers, since it incorporates not only the isolated drive and power supplies and also provides comprehensive fault detection and protection features to insure safe, reliable operation.

The board offers a proven, cost effective driver that will allow OEMs to get their product to market quickly. It is available as a stand alone PC board or with a protective cover with silkscreened legend. The board accepts a single low voltage power supply and all logic level control signals through a single 26 pin dual row connector.

The AP-1491 is designed for robust, reliable operation. Versions have been used and qualified in many applications including: industrial frequency converters, motor drives, transit inverters and converters, uninterruptible power supplies, battery chargers, etc.
